Every year at Wine Place Niagara Falls we are proud to offer Limited Edition Wine Kits from Ken Ridge Showcase and Selection Ltd Edition. Wines featured change on a yearly basis, with new Limited Edition vintages being announced sometime in November.
Over the last few years we have seen an astounding interest in these Limited Edition vintages. In order to serve you better and avoid sell-outs we are asking all of our clientele who are possibly interested in any of these Limited Edition wines to let us know. Why You Should Be Drinking Wine!

It's very easy to get caught up in the fun of choosing or making your own wine. Once in awhile it's a good idea to remember just why wine can benefit us in more ways than one. In this edition we have laid out some of the great health benefits associated with enjoying a glass of wine.
Reduces Heart DiseaseThe best known benefit of drinking wine is that it reduces heart disease. The reduced risk of heart disease is due in large part to the skin of the grape containing tannins, polyphenols, flavonoids, bioflavonoids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which together will raise your level of good cholesterol.
A higher level of good cholesterol means a lower chance of forming a blood clot. Tedd Goldfinger, DO of the Arizona School of Medicine also points out that good cholesterol levels "reduce blood vessel inflammation," a contributing factor to heart disease. It must be noted that to receive the necessary benefits, it should to be a glass of red wine as the skins are used in fermenting it. Many of us have a high cholesterol problem that is difficult to manage so the fact that enjoying such a luxury as wine is great news. Promotes Anti-AgingFor those of us who are trying to win the race against time there's some great news. Now every time we tip our glasses and savour the taste of our wine we can smile at the possibility of getting the upper hand. An article in the Washington Post has referenced a study linking resveratrol (an antibody produced by the grapes skin) found in red wine to be the activating agent in promoting anti-aging genes. They are now testing resveratrol on humans in hopes that this promising agent can be added to nutritional supplements in the future. Just imagine!
It is also widely reported that alcohol, as opposed to liquor, can help the body burn
calories up to 90 minutes after having a glass. If you weren't yet sold on having a glass of red wine a day I bet you are now!
Anticarcinogenic
Aside from reducing heart disease and promoting anti-aging our bold yet supple premium red wines also have the ability to fight against cancer! Many studies are arriving at the same answer: that one glass of red wine a day will reduce your risk of disease by 50 percent.
How much is enough? The Mayo Clinic states that just one 5 oz. glass of red wine a day for women and two for men, as they metabolize it better, is enough to reap the benefits. Aside from an Australian study, both the Universities of Hawaii and Michigan have found that the antioxidants and phytoestrogens in red wine are to thank.
